How to Get Coins Fast in Capybara Crossing: 8 Tips

How to Get Coins Fast in Capybara Crossing: 8 Tips

The fastest way to get coins in Capybara Crossing is to survive longer, not to chase every coin. Each coin is worth one, and about three lanes in ten hold one, so a longer run passes more of them. On top of that, claim the daily gift every day, buy a coin-magnet capybara early, and use the optional 50-coin video when you want a quick boost. Coins you pick up are kept when a run ends, so a crash never costs you what you’ve already collected.

Here’s how each source works, and how to spend your coins in an order that speeds up the rest.

There are no in-app purchases in Capybara Crossing. You can’t buy coins, and every capybara in the shop is earned by playing. So there’s no paid shortcut to weigh up: the tips below are the whole game.

1. Survive longer instead of chasing coins #

Because coins turn up in about 30% of lanes, a 50-point run passes somewhere around 15 of them if you grab the ones on your path. A 20-point run passes about six. The biggest boost to your coin rate is a better average score, and the quickest way to wreck it is dying for one coin at 18 points.

Grab coins that are on your way. Skip the ones that need a detour through a live lane.

2. Take road coins only when the gap is already open #

The coins parked in traffic are worth the detour, sometimes. Take one if it’s in a lane you were crossing anyway and the gap is open right now. Don’t wait inside a road lane for a coin to become safe. Early in a run, while traffic is slow, you can afford more of these than after about 75 points, when traffic reaches full speed. Our traffic guide covers how to read those gaps.

3. Treat grass-lane coins as free #

Grass is the safest place to find a coin, because nothing is coming for you there. A sideways hop to grab one also resets the eagle timer, so it costs you nothing. Just don’t dawdle: five seconds without a hop brings the eagle warning, and eight brings the eagle.

4. Claim the daily gift every day #

The first time you open the game each day, you get a coin gift. It starts at 25 coins and grows by 10 for each consecutive day, up to 75. Opening the game once a day adds up quickly in your first couple of weeks, when most capybaras cost a few hundred coins.

5. Use the 50-coin video when you want it #

After a game over, and in the character shop, you can choose to watch a video for 50 coins. It’s optional, and it only plays if you tap it. It’s the quickest route to your first capybara: Baby Capy costs 100 coins, which is about two videos. The legendary capybaras still come mostly from play.

The other option at game over is a revive, which puts you back into the same run once. If you were on a strong run, a revive can be worth more coins than the video, because it gives you more lanes to pass.

6. Buy a magnet capybara first #

Four capybaras pull coins toward you:

  • Flower Capy (250 coins): the shortest magnet, and the cheapest.
  • Bee Capy (600 coins): a mid-range magnet plus a bonus coin every run.
  • Beach Capy (650 coins): a mid-range magnet.
  • Golden Capy (1,400 coins): the widest magnet, twice Flower’s reach.

A magnet means fewer detours, and fewer detours means fewer deaths. Flower Capy is the best early buy for most players because it’s cheap and changes every run.

7. Add a starting bonus #

Chef Capy (450 coins) starts every run with 2 bonus coins, and King Capy (1,000 coins) with 3. It sounds small, but you get it every run, including the short ones that end at the first road.

8. Plan your spending order #

Buying all 18 paid capybaras takes 18,350 coins. A sensible order for coin speed is:

  1. Flower Capy (250) for the magnet.
  2. Chef Capy (450) for 2 free coins every run.
  3. Robo Capy (1,200), whose shield absorbs one hit per run, so more runs go long.
  4. Golden Capy (1,400) if collecting is your main goal, for the widest magnet.

Then buy whichever cosmetic capybaras you actually like, and leave the legends for last. By the time you can afford Ninja (2,500) or Space Capy (3,500), you’ll be having the long runs that pay for them. Every price and perk is in our Capybara Crossing characters guide.

If you also play Crossy Road, its coin system works differently, with a prize machine and timed gifts. Our Crossy Road coin guide covers that one.

What wastes coins? #

Nothing in the shop is a trap, because every capybara is permanent. The real waste is time spent on short, reckless runs that end at the first road. If you notice a string of early deaths, slow down for a few games and let your average score recover. Our Capybara Crossing high-score tips cover the habits that make runs longer.

Frequently asked questions #

Do I lose my coins if I die? #

No. Coins you pick up during a run are added to your total when the run ends, whether you crash or not.

Can you buy coins in Capybara Crossing? #

No. There are no in-app purchases. Coins come from runs, the daily gift, per-run bonuses from certain capybaras, and the optional 50-coin videos.

How many coins do you need to get every capybara? #

18,350 coins buys all 18 capybaras in the shop. The original capybara is free from the start.

What’s the cheapest capybara with a perk? #

Flower Capy, at 250 coins, with a coin magnet. It’s the best first purchase for most players.

Will an update wipe my coins? #

No. Every update checks and repairs your saved data before the game reads it, so your coins, capybaras, high score and achievements carry over. Progress lives on your device rather than in an account, so deleting the app deletes it.
